Federal Skilled Worker Applications

Each year, the majority of economic immigrants to Canada apply under the Canada Experience Class and Federal Skilled Worker Program. These programs are designed for foreign persons who have the skill, experience, or education that Canada’s labour force needs. Applicants are chosen based on an assessment of their education, ability with the English language, work experience, age, ability to adapt to life in Canada, and special considerations are given if the applicant has arranged employment in Canada. Applicants must apply with experience in a skilled job or have an arranged employment opinion (“AEO”) in lieu of possessing experience under one of the designated occupations. Third party proof of English and/or French is required when the assessing the application in relation to the Comprehensive Ranking System, which is the method by which Canada’s immigration department restricts the number of applications that may be filed
